Despite the currently challenging financing landscape, the resilience and potential demonstrated by female entrepreneurs should not be overlooked. Supporting women in entrepreneurship is not only key to narrowing the gender gap but also essential to vitalizing the world’s innovation ecosystem. We call for a more inclusive financing environment, where women’s entrepreneurial dreams can receive deserved capital support.
·According to statistics by Africa: The Big Deal, an entrepreneurial data platform, in 2024, female entrepreneurs in Africa raised a total of USD 48 million, a sharp fourfold drop from USD 1.92 billion in 2023. The figure marked the lowest point since records began in 2019.
·In 2024, male entrepreneurs raised a total of over USD 2 billion, and mixed-gender teams secured USD 121 million, while female-founded or all-female teams only received USD 21 million, reflecting a giant gender gap.
